Is your Boston bored with the food you are feeding him? Well you better do something quick or you will get one of those dreaded stink eye looks that every Boston owner dreads...
We offer one cure for this serious problem. A healthy but Boston approved treat.
Pumpkin Dog Treats...
Yes this will solve your problem and get you back in good graces of you fur friend..
PUMPKIN DOG TREATS
325 degree oven
2-1/2 Cups whole wheat flour
¼ Cup honey
3/4 Cup canned pumpkin ( half of a 15 oz can)
½ Teaspoon Salt
½ Teaspoon EACH of cinnamon, nutmeg, ground sage
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
(3-4 Tablespoons water as needed)
Preheat Oven to 325 deg.
Combine flour, honey, pumpkin, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg & sage in a bowl. Add water as needed to make it workable but dough should be dry and stiff. Roll out to 1/4” thick, keep it thin. Cut into shapes and bake on a cookie sheet at 325 Degrees for 40 minutes or longer, check to see that there is no moisture in them when done. Treats should be hard, not soft inside. Store in an airtight jar.
However just in case the Pumpkin treats don't work we offer a plan B....
Sweet potato treats are easy.
Wash and peel the sweet potato, slice into thin strips, as thin as possible,
my dogs eat them raw, So you better make sure you have plenty on hand when you start to make this back up plan B offering..
Bake in a low oven like 250 degrees for an hour or two,
Or even make sweet potato fries to enjoy with your dogs,
400 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes depending on thickness.
Just don't overcook them.
As an extra protection against the famous Boston Stink eye we are suggesting a plan C
for those who have been lucky enough to to see a Bostons "stink eye" glare then your just lucky that's all I can say!
Make peanut butter dog cookies,
the recipe is super simple 3/4 cup of smooth peanut butter,
2 cups of whole wheat flour,
one cup of beef or chicken broth, or water, or milk if your dog can stand milk.
Put the peanut butter into a bowl that has the flour in it,
add the liquid of your choice,
mix thoroughly,
roll out like cookie dough to desired thickness on a floured surface and cut out,
then bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until done.
With no yeast in the mix you can even feed the raw dough in small amounts to your dogs.
Your Bostons may drool while the treats are in the oven and can barely wait for them to cool.
That's the hardest part, getting the dogs to wait while they cool.
