You can use canned, but avoid pie fillings as they contain many spices and sugar. It is a good idea to buy pumpkins while they are cheap in the autumn, chop and cook them in small portions for your pet baking sessions.

PUMPKIN LEATHER makes a great chew treat for your pet. This is a simple version, but you could easily add a jar of applesauce for sweetness.
INGREDIENTS:
2 Cups Cooked Pureed Pumpkin
HOW TO MAKE THE LEATHER:
Turn the oven on the lowest setting or use a dehydrator.
- Puree the pumpkin in a food processor
- Spread the pumpkin out thinly onto a non-stick baking tray
- Leave in the oven for 6 to 8 hours until they are no longer sticky when you touch them
- When cool, roll the leather and cut into treats.
