We have a lot to tell you about what BTN is doing! We are so excited...
First there is the "Help a Boston" program that thanks to Frances Weaver who has volunteered to be our "Special Projects "Developer for the Boston Terrier Network We have our first case. Let me explain...Our "Help a Boston" program is aimed a selecting one Boston at a time, that was a previous rescued by a BT organization and adopted. When we have verified that the Boston and owner's story, is true, we will reach out and help provide medical funds in the form of a grant. Frances will help develop the details but for now we are looking at continuing to raise money for Beatrice..
Mark the owner spend his savings to follow the vets instructions. Beatrice's vet bills are large. This is his best friend he is on disability. We have verified his story including getting copies of the vet bills. We feel that this is an area where BTN can make an impact in an area often over looked.
Where would you go if your adopted Boston needs help? The original Rescue organization is not set up to help.
That is where we can come in and provide a grant directly to the vet helping on Boston and owner at a time...

Next we need to let you know we have started our "Sponsor A Boston " Program:
Today we matched a wonderful lady who told us she wanted us to help her find a Boston in foster in rescue that needed extra support. She can not foster but is an avid support of rescued dogs. We just have received confirmation that Boston Terrier Rescue of Oklahoma has accepted her Sponsorship of Rambo a 4 yr old male Boston with heartworm. We thank Rosmaire Kelly for accepting Rambo as her sponsored Boston.
We hope to be able to at least once a month find other willing sponsors to match with a Boston. A sponsor will be in direct contact with the foster family and we will leave it up to the Sponsor and the rescue family on how the sponsor helps. It might be a small monthly donation to the vet, or purchase of crates, bedding, what is donated and the amount will be totally up to the Sponsor. We even can see where several sponsors may want to help a specific dog each giving a small portion instead of a major sponsor... Even a card to the family and a small package of teats is acceptable.
We receive a very special thank you, for the positive impact we made on one of our guest writers. There was no way we could have ever known how our original story of Robert and his Bulldog, could have made the impact it did... The outpouring of acceptance and encouragement that Robert got when we published his story is, well there is no other word just plain AWESOME.
He contacted me last week to tell me due to our publishing his story, he was as happy as he had been in an long time. So many people responded to his story, he indicated he had found new purpose in his life!
I ask him if he would be so kind as to do a follow up story and tell our readers how the story published had achieved this he agreed..
Unfortunately just as he was going to write his follow up story His precious Bulldog, suddenly died, needless he was devastated. But as one can never explain that same day he was contacted with a plead for help to find a young female Bulldog a home Robert was amazed he was dog siting another dog name Brent and felt without Brent there he would not have been able to deal with Aklies death...
But he sensed that Brent was trying to tell him to take in OZZY, and he felt that Aklies would have wanted him to... But what else could he do... The bulldogs were gaining up on him....
